It's not just all talk. Here's just a few of the ways we've invested in our Pelican Centre community this year - and in the longer-term - to deliver a membership that's great value for everyone.

• Great value membership fees, with no hidden extras
  We haven't increased our membership fees since 2016, meaning that for 8 years, a Pelican Centre Membership has offered better and better value. With no joining fees or hidden extras to pay, we're pretty sure you won't find value like that anywhere else locally!
   
• Investing in local people to grow our own talent
  The Pelican Centre's committed to growing our own talent, and we're pleased to have recruited 4 great apprentices from the local area who are already making a real difference to our members' experiences.
   
• Investment in new plant room systems
  Getting better value from your membership means finding ways to maximise our budgets. This year, we've installed new plant room systems that are more energy-efficient, meaning the plant room costs less to run without negatively impacting your experience.
   
• Investment in staff & training
  You'll have spotted Owen around the Centre this year, who's joined us to support members everywhere, but particularly in the Gym, providing a friendly face and a point of contact for anyone who needs some help, guidance or just a bit of motivation. Two staff members are undergoing a comprehensive training programme in early 2025, which we can't wait to tell you more about this year!
   

• Growing our class timetable
  In 2024, we added 4 more classes to our Class timetable based on your feedback, including Flow, Tai Chi and Stretch. Regular sell-outs tell us that you love them!
   
• Here4You: Health & wellbeing for everyone
  We've recently introduced you to Here4You, the Pelican Centre's flagship programme for health and wellbeing that encourages, supports and guides everyone in our community to become more active, and to stay healthy and well. Keep your eyes peeled for more on Here4You in 2025!
   
• New Gym & Pool Training Programmes
  It's tough when you get stuck in a training rut, so we introduced a great set of training programmes for the Gym and Pool in 2024 that help you to shake up your routine, try something different and reach your goals. Gym Training Programmes have been developed by our own team, with accessible videos that guide you through each workout to help you get more out of your session.
   
• Centre-wide sustainability initiatives
  We're continually investing in the Pelican Centre and its infrastructure, and we're grateful to our community for your help in creating a centre that operates sustainably and efficiently. By minimising waste, reducing energy and by carefully selecting the partners we work with, the Pelican Centre is making a positive difference to our local environment.
