We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Lifeguard to join the Pelican Centre team.
The Pelican Centre offers all staff the opportunity to gain further qualifications including Swimming Teacher, Gym Instructors, Personal Trainer & Pool Plant. The role includes:

Fully independent, self-funded and a registered charity, our affordable and accessible swim, gym, classes and community spaces help members to achieve fitness goals and offer fantastic opportunities to learn a new skill, to connect with others and to support those who need it.
The Pelican Centre is run by a dedicated team of permanent staff, volunteers and trustees, and facilities include a full-size swimming pool, fully-equipped air-conditioned gym and a classes hall, with community spaces available for small groups or meetings.

The Pelican Centre is recruiting experienced swimming teachers to expand our current Learn to Swim programme. We deliver lessons to children aged from 3 years old, all the way up to adult lessons.
You must have a Level 2 Swimming Teacher qualification, either from Swim England or STA, and must hold an NPLQ or NRASTC qualification.
You’ll have knowledge of the Swim England Learn to Swim programme for teaching swimming skills, techniques and awards.
You’ll be friendly, enthusiastic, and passionate about helping children and adults learn how to swim and to enjoy the water safely, giving your students lifelong skills and building a great, trusting relationship with them.
